DHAKA, Nov 22 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army today held a reception in honour of the gallantry award recipient freedom fighters (FFs) of the Bangladesh Army and their close relatives at the Officers'
Club in Dhaka Cantonment.
The reception marked the Arms Forces Day.
Army Chief General M Abdul Mubeen distributed gifts among 24 gallantry award recipient freedom fighters for their contribution to the War of Liberation in 1971.
The gallantry award recipient army personnel, their close relatives and high military officials in Dhaka were present on the occasion.
Air Force Chief Air Marshal Shah M Ziaur Rahman arranged another reception in honour of the gallantry award recipient freedom fighters of the Liberation War and their successors at the Biman Sadar.
A total of 22 gallantry award recipient freedom fighters and their successors were given gifts and cheques on the occasion.
Mili Rahman, spouse of martyred Flight Lieutenant M Motiur Rahman, Bir Shrestha, Planning Minister and the country's first air force chief Air Vice Marshal (retd) Abdul Karim Khandaker, Bir Uttam, and former Air Chief Air Vice Marshal Sultan Mahmud, Bir Uttam were present, among others.
