Ctg AL to assemble 1m people in Mar 28 grand rally
 
CHITTAGONG, March 4 (BSS) - Leaders of Chittagong Awami League (AL) on Sunday declared to assemble about 10 lakh people in the planned grand rally in the city on March 28.

AL president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to
address the rally to be held at city's Polo Ground as chief
guest.

The information was revealed in a preparatory meeting
convened by Chittagong city north and south district units of AL
held at Hotel Peninsula here today.

With chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee On
Civil Aviation And Tourism Affairs Engineer Mosharraf Hossain,
MP, in the chair the meeting unanimously fixed Railway Polo
ground for the meeting venue.

Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, also president of Chittagong
north district AL, said they are taking preparations to bring
together about 10 lakh people in the rally as per expectation of
the party chief Sheikh Hasina.

Minister for Environment and Forest Dr Hasan Mahmud said
BNP- Jamaat is hatching all out conspiracies to stall the trial
of the war criminals.

"We are arranging this rally to foil the conspiracies of the
BNP-Jamaat and the people will prove that Chittagong is the
stronghold of AL," he added.

Former city mayor and Chittagong AL president ABM Mohiuddin
Chowdhury said they are going to arrange the rally in order to
bring back team spirit among the party men and to prove that
there is no faction in Chittagong AL.

Primary and Mass education Minister Dr Afsarul Amin, Nurul
Islam BSc, MP, Mainuddin Khan Badal, MP, ABM Abul Kashem Master
MP, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP, MA Latif, MP, Chemon Ara Tayob,
MP, administrator of Chittagong District Administration MA Salam,
AL leaders AZM Nasir, Begum Hasina Mannan, ATM Aminul Islam Amin
and Kazi Enamul Hoque Danu among others, were present in the
meeting.
