DHAKA, Mar 10 (BSS)- The Awami League-led 14-party alliance will form a 13-kilometre-long human chain tomorrow across the capital city to mobilise public support in favour of the government's initiative to try the war criminals.
The one-hour human-chain will be formed stretching from Jatrabari intersection in the East to Gabtoli intersection in the West from 4 pm to mould public opinion against the conspiracy being hatched by the anti-liberation forces to foil the ongoing trial of the war criminals.
Central leaders of the 14-party alliance will join the programme at different city street intersections and lead the human-chain.
A decision to this effect was taken at a preparatory meeting of the 14-party alliance on Friday and the central leaders of the alliance have also been entrusted with the responsibilities of taking part and overseeing the human-chain programme.
Most of the Awami League leaders, including Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sengupta, Begum Matia Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Obaidul Quader, Advocate Sahara Khatun, Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Syed Ashraful Islam and Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif will take part in the human-chain programme in the areas of the central part of the city.
Besides, central leaders of the allies of the 14-party alliance will take part in the human-chain programme at different city points.
Earlier, district units of the 14-party alliance also formed human-chains in different district headquarters across the country on Friday campaigning for trying the war criminals.
