DHAKA, March 12 (BSS): The Awami League-led 14-party alliance will hold a grand public rally at the Western Gate of Bangabandhu National Stadium at Bangabandhu Square here at 3 pm on Wednesday (March 14) against the destructive acts and conspiracies of the BNP-Jamaat alliance.
Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the grand rally as the chief guest. Awami League presidium member and Deputy Leader of the House as well as coordinator of the 14-party alliance Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury MP will chair the mega event.
Central leaders of the 14-party alliance will also address the mass rally on the day.
The grand rally is convened to gain people's support against the BNP-Jamaat alliance's bid to create obstruction to the trial of the war criminals and attempt to foil the development work of the democratic government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, among others.
In a statement today, Awami League presidium member and coordinator of the 14-party alliance Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury MP called upon all the democratic, progressive, pro-liberation and secular forces to make the rally a grand success.
Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will exchange opinions with the leaders and workers of Khulna district unit of her party at her official Gano Bhaban residence at 12 noon on Thursday (March 15).
The view exchange meeting has been convened as part of the Awami League president's series of organisational meetings with the grassroots level leaders and workers.
At the meeting, members of the Awami League Central Working Committee, Khulna District unit executive committee, national committee, advisory council, party legislators, presidents and general secretaries of all the upazila, thana, municipal and union units under Khulna District unit, party's upazila chairmen and vice-chairmen, municipal mayors and councillors, chairmen of union parishads and presidents and general secretaries of the associate bodies of the party's district and upazila units will be present.
In a statement today, Awami League general secretary and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam MP urged all concerned to attend the meeting on time.
