FARIDPUR, March 31(BSS)-Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain has said time has now come to inform the young generation about the life long struggle that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had waged for emancipation of the Bangalee nation.
Mosharraf said this while unfolding the publication of a research and compilation book on Bangabandhu by one Badiuzzaman Choudhury Bhadu on behalf of greater Faridpur Itihash and Oitijjaho Parishad here yesterday.
Presiding over the function, Mosharraf said most of the present generation do not know elaborately the contribution of Bangabandhu to our struggle for independence.
He said political farsightedness helped Bangabandhu to place the historic six-point demand to the Pakistani rules to free the Bangalees from repression and exploitation.
Describing the essence of Bangabandhu's great speech of March 7 on the Race Course ground, Mosharraf said it was enough to declare the independence of Bangladesh.
The function was also addressed, among others, by Awami League Advisory Council Member SM Nurunnabi, District Awami League President and Zila Parishad Administrator Kazi Zainul Abedin, Awami League leader Khandkar, Mohtesham Hossain Babar, DC Helaluddin Ahmed and Acting Police Super Bijoy Basak.
