DHAKA, April 11 (BSS)- Senior member of Awami League presidium and Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury MP will discharge her responsibilities as the acting president of Awami League in absence of party chief Sheikh Hasina.
Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for Istanbul on a three-day official visit to Turkey in the afternoon today. The Prime Minister is expected to return home on April 14, according to a party press release.
A joint meeting between the central leaders of Awami League and the leaders of Dhaka City AL and presidents and general secretaries of Thana AL units and party legislators residing under Dhaka City Corporation (North) areas has been convened at party president Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi at 6-30 pm tomorrow.
Similarly, another joint meeting between the AL central leaders and Dhaka City AL leaders and presidents, general secretaries and party legislators of the capital's southern area has been convened at the same venue at the same time on Friday.
Acting president of Awami League Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury will chair both the meetings.
In a statement today, Awami League general secretary and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam requested the person concerned to attend the meetings in time. |
