ANKARA, April 11 (BSS) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was given a red-carpet reception when she arrived here this evening on a three-day official visit to the Republic of Turkey at the invitation of her Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG-043) carrying Sheikh Hasina and members of her entourage landed at Ankara Esenboga International Airport at 6.50 pm local time (9.50pm BST)).
Turkish Education Minister Omer Dincer, Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Deputy Governor of Ankara Selahattin Ekremoglu, Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey Zulfiqur Rahman, Deputy Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Seyfi Saltoglu and senior officials of the Turkish foreign ministry received the Prime Minister at the airport.
Two tiny tots presented bouquets to the Bangladesh Prime Minister.
After reception ceremony, the Prime Minister in a motorcade was taken to Hotel Sheraton where she will be staying during the visit.
The Bangladesh premier is scheduled to have a tete-a-tete and official talks with her Turkish counterpart Erdogan tomorrow
The two prime ministers would witness signing of agreements between the two countries and later address a joint press briefing.
