CHITTAGONG, April 16 (BSS) - A navigator of an Antiguan flag career ship went missing after he allegedly jumped from the ship at Chittagong Port (CP) outer anchorage on Monday morning.
The missing pilot Ricado Gallen, a Philippines national, was navigator of the container ship Stedt Hamburg which anchored at the outer anchorage on Saturday.
CP secretary Syed Mohammad Farhad Uddin said Ricado jumped into the bay when the ship was waiting at the outer anchorage for unloading of the containers around 4am today.
"Other navigators of the ship passed the news to the port control room", Farhad said adding that a rescue team of Coastguard is conducting rescue operation in the bay.
An unsupported source said that Ricado was drunk and behaved
insensibly before he jumped from the ship. |
