DHAKA, April 17 (BSS) - The High Court today rejected a writ petition filed by Destiny Multipurpose Cooperative Society challenging the legality of a Bangladesh Bank report.
The court rejected the petition terming it 'premature' as the matter is not mature to file a case in this regard.
"The court rejected the writ petition as it was premature," Assistant Attorney General Samorendra Nath Biswas told reporters after pronouncement of the order.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Farid Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif passed the order on hearing the petition.
Managing Director of Destiny Multipurpose Cooperative Society Rafiqul Amin filed the writ petition on April 8 challenging the legality of the central bank report submitted by its inspection team that said the company had been doing illegal banking.
Finance Secretary and governor of Bangladesh Bank were made respondents in the writ.
AF Hassan Ariff along with Barrister Mizan Sayeed, Barrister Rafiqul Haque, Barrister Rokan Uddin Mahmud and Adv. Ahsanur Karim moved the petition while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for State.
