DHAKA, Mar 28 (BSS)- Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said the government is planning to recruit at least one social worker in each educational institutions of the country.
"Our social outlook should be changed for the all-out development of the society," the minister said while addressing a daylong national conference on 'Social Works Education's Perspective in Bangladesh: Challenge and Ethical Aspects' at Social Work and Research Institute auditorium of Dhaka University (DU).
'Bangladesh Council For Social Work Education' arranged the conference with its President Professor Abdul Hakim Sarkar in the chair.
National University (NU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Kazi Shahidullah and DU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Harun-or-Rashid addressed the conference as the special guests.
Social Work and Research Institute Director Professor Muhammad Samad delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
Nahid today called for imparting the new generation with moral education and imbuing with patriotism.
Professor Shahidullah laid emphasis on social work and hence opening social work department at all public and private college and educational institutions under NU.
Teachers and researchers of social work department of different universities and educational institutions took part in the day-long conference.
