DHAKA, March 15 (BSS) -Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad has sought pragmatic initiatives from the government of Senegal to import the world standard Bangladeshi products considering their competitive prices.
He urged the Senegal government to extend its cooperation to Bangladesh especially in the industrial and agriculture sectors as Bangladeshi readymade garments , pharmaceuticals, jute and jute products, cosmetics, ceramic and melamine can meet Senegal's demand, said an official release.
Dhaka-Dakar as Muslim nations can work together to share the
two country's culture, he said when Delhi based Senegal's Ambassador to Bangladesh Amadou Moustapha Diouf called on him at his office here today.
The minister recalled that Senegal was the first country among the African nations to recognise Bangladesh soon after its independence. He expressed his gratitude to the people and the government of Senegal for their supports during the country's War of Liberation.
They discussed the existing excellent bilateral relations between the two countries based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, trust and cooperation.
Azad expressed interest to sign a cultural exchange agreement with Senegal.
Besides, the minister showed interest to export Bangladeshi anpower to Senegal for its different industries.
