DHAKA, July 3 (BSS) - Mobile phone subscribers increased by some 1.48 million in May this year taking the total to 92.12 million, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) today.
In April, the subscribers of the six mobile phone operators were 90.64 million.
Grameenphone topped the list with 38.41 million in May, up from 37.75 million over previous month, followed by Banglalink with 25.25 million customers, up from 25.00 million.
Besides, Robi Axiata raised its subscriber base to 18.73 million from 18.24 million and Airtel Bangladesh ended May with 6.67 million subscribers, versus 6.54 million in April.
The state-run mobile phone operator Teletalk raised its subscribers to 1.34 million compared to 1.30 million in the previous month.
On the other hand, the country's lone CDMA operator Citycell witnessed downsizing experience. Its subscriber base slipped to 1.71 million from 1.80 million in May.
