Preparation complete to observe Bangabandhu's birthday in N-dists
RANGPUR, Mar 16 (BSS) - All preparations are now complete to observe the 92nd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day- 2012 in the northern districts in a befitting manner tomorrow.

The administrations, Awami League (AL), its front organisations, Shishu Academy, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela, socio- cultural and children organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day.

The programmes include placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, children's gatherings, rallies, drawing, handwriting, essay and ready speech competitions, discussions, cultural functions and prize distribution ceremonies.

Special prayers will be offered seeking divine blessings for Bangabandhu, four national leaders and martyrs of the War of Liberation and peace and progress of the nation at the mosques, temples, pagodas, churches and other places of worships.

Besides, improved diets will be served to the inmates of all hospitals, upazila health complexes, jails, vagabond centers, shishu paribars and orphanages tomorrow.

In Rangpur city, the observance will begin through placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Central Shaheed Minar by Divisional Commissioner Jashim Uddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner BM Enamul Haque in the morning.

Later, Mayor of Rangpur pourashava, leaders of AL, its front organizations, officials of the government departments, NGOs, different socio- political and other organisations, professional bodies, business leaders, educational institutions will place wreaths there.

Divisional Commissioner Jashim Uddin Ahmed will attend the main discussion meeting as the chief guest at Town Hall auditorium with Deputy Commissioner BM Enamul Haque in the chair.

Besides, floral wreaths will be placed at the portrait of Bangabandhu and separate discussion meetings will be organised at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), Rangpur Medical College, Carmichael College and other institutions in the city.

Vice Chancellor of BRUR Prof Dr Abdul Jalil Miah, Principal of Rangpur Medical College Prof Dr Abdur Rouf, Principal of Carmichael College Prof Dr Dipokendra Nath Das, academicians, will take part in these discussion meeting.

Similar programmes have been chalked out in Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur and other adjoining northern districts to observance the day in a befitting manner.
