RANGPUR, March 28 (BSS) - Experts at a seminar today stressed maximum utilization of the information technology (IT) for turning larger population into human resources and creating job careers for quicker economic uplifts.
The government has been spreading digitized information communication technology (ICT) and ensuring its facilities at the grassroots involving the young generations in the process of building a medium income digitized nation by 2021, they said.
Begum Rokeya University of Rangpur (BRUR) and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) jointly organised the seminar titled 'IT Career & Inauguration Ceremony of BdOSN' at the academic building no-4 on the campus.
Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Professor Dr Muhammad Abdul Jalil Miah attended the seminar as the chief guest with chairman of Department of Physics Professor Dr Gazi Mazharul Anwar in the chair.
Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences Md Morshed Hossain and Assistant Professor of Department of Physics Md Al-Helal also addressed.
General Secretary of BdOSN and IT expert of the country Munir Hassan elaborately discussed Open Source Networking and its enormous prospects as an earning career.
In his speech, the VC put maximum emphasis on flourishing IT sector and its optimum utilization for achieving sustainable economic development in the country through creating job opportunities and career for the unemployed youths.
Later, a committee of BdOSN was formed with Assistant Professor of the Physics Department Md Al-Helal as its Moderator, Sajjadur Rahman as the Convener and Syed Rakibul Hassan as the Member-secretary.
