CHITTAGONG, March 31 (BSS) - Shahidul Alam and Riaj Haider have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Chittagong Union of Journalists ( CUJ) at its biennial conference
held today.

A total of 266 out of 283 voters cast their votes in the election began 8 am and continued till 4 pm without interruption.

Election commissioner Moazamul Hoq announced the official results around 7.50 pm.

Other office bearers are - : Vice-president - Ratan Kanti Debashis, Joint Secretary- Mohammad Shamsu, (unopposed), Finance Secretary-Mahfuj Afsar, Organizing Secretary -Faruk Taher , Press and publicity secretary-Pranab Barua Arnab and members- Shisir Barua, Mozahidul Islam and Shorup Bhattacharzee.
