RAJSHAHI, April 1 (BSS)- Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) has a plan to construct two roads in the city at an estimated cost of Taka 219 crore.
The roads-- one from RUET campus to Kharkhari and another
from Court area to city bypass road-- will be constructed with
overpass to cross railway line.
RDA officials revealed this at a coordination meeting on
implementation of development programmes of Rajshahi city at the
Mayor office of Rajshahi City Corporation here today.
Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton presided over the meeting.
He asked the RDA officials to take effective step to
complete the ongoing implementation works of the Gourhanga to
Shaheb Bazar connection road without further delay to lessen the
sufferings of the commoners.
The mayor was apprised of the matter that the works will be
completed by the yearend.
Various other matters like widening of other city streets,
drainage system improvement, development of housing area and
construction of multistoried parking space were also came up for
discussion in the meeting.
RCC Ward Councilors Shahidul Islam, Kamruzzaman and
Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer Ajahar Ali, Chief Engineer
Ashraful Haque, RDA Chairman Abdur Rahim, Executive Engineer Abul
Kalam Azad and Town Planner Azmery Ashrafi were present at the
meeting, among others.
