Skipper Mahela hopes to rectify their mistakes

DHAKA, March 14 (BSS) - Sri Lankan skipper Mahela
Jayawardane said they would not repeat those mistakes that they
did in the first match against India as they prepare to meet
Pakistan in the crucial Asia Cup fixture tomorrow at Sher-e-
Bangla National Cricket Stadium here.

"We know how mush important the Asia Cup is to us. Each
match is very important. We made some mistakes in the previous
match and for that we had to compensated for that losing the game
against India. So we have to rectify those mistakes ahead of the
tomorrow's match. We have to prove tomorrow that we are still in
the tournament race" said the Sri Lankan skipper to the reporters
today.

He said after losing the first match they all have mentally
set their mind for the tomorrow's important match as they
encountered the same experience in the recently concluded
Australia tour. "It is good for team, as each member of the team
would think about the matter," Mahela said.

When wanted to know about the condition of pacer Lasith
Malinga, who missed the opening match against India, Mahela said
he is fit now. He aggravated his injury during the last two
finals of the CB series in Australia. His inclusion in the team
for the second would be finalized this evening after seeing the
practice.

Commenting about Pakistan team, the Sri Lanka skipper said
all of them are good players. Any one of them can contribute in
the match at any time as well. Their spinner Saeed Ajmal took
himself to a different height in the last two years. Pacer Umar
Gul is now one of the best pacers in the World and they have
quality spinner like Shahid Afridi, who can be helpful for the
team. We must keep eye on all of them.
