DHAKA, April 10 (BSS)- A ten-man Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra blanked Farashganj Sporting Club by 3-0 goals to return to the winning track in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here today (Tuesday).
Sheikh Russell KC, which lost their last four matches, took their tally to 11 points from nine matches while Farashganj Sporting Club remained at their previous credit of 7 points also playing the same number of matches.
Sheikh Russell took the lead in the 9th minute when midfielder Anwar Hossian's corner taken from the left flag hit the far post and crashed into the net (1-0).
Russell's lead was doubled in the 25th minute when midfielder Anwar sent a cross in the middle of the Farashganj's box and their Cameroonian midfielder Siankam Emako headed the ball into the path of Alamu Bukola Olalekan, the Nigerian forward beat Farashganj goalie Sultan Ahmed Shakil with an angular placing shot from the middle of the box (2-0).
Russell was reduced to ten men in the 36th minute when Siankam Emako fouled Farashganj midfielder Jahirul Islam Jahir and was sent off. Jahir who was struck in the head by the knee of Emako was later taken to the hospital.
Anwar scored his second and the third for his team in the 56th minute as he beat Shakil with an angular placing shot after Moroccan Moro Mohammed sent a through pass from the midfield (3- 0).
Farashganj forward Akbar Hossain Ridon saw his shot saved by Russell goalie Biplob in the 62nd minute.
